What does Youth Mentoring offer your organisation?

Youth Mentoring gives your organisation a chance to create ties with local media companies and access a wide range of media mentors who can offer project-based support to your young people.

Youth Mentoring enables disadvantaged 14 to 25-year-olds to get expert advice and guidance on their projects from a media professional giving them the opportunity to learn new skills, build their confidence and realise their full potential.

We have a dedicated team in place to take care of all of the hard work free of charge to your organisation.

What will it involve?

Your organisation will need to identify a main point of contact and complete an application form and service level agreement (SLA). Once accepted onto the scheme you'll need to encourage your young people to get involved, complete mentor requests, supply any other referral information and help support us with monitoring and evaluation.

How does it work?

Youth Mentoring is designed to be flexible and provide a pick 'n' mix of options including one-to-one and group mentoring with a choice of short or long term commitment.

The Youth Mentoring team will take care of mentor selection and training, Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checking and support, as well as matching mentors to youth-led projects.

What about quality and standards?

Quality and standards are very important to us. We work closely with the Mentoring and Befriending Foundation (MBF) to ensure that we deliver high quality mentoring which adhers to good practice standards.

We also make sure that Youth Mentoring meets all heath and safety and confidentiality requirements.

Is your organisation eligable?
