Volunteer with us

We match creative professionals working in media, communications, marketing or digital roles with charities, communities and young people who need their skills and experience.

This section is for individuals interested in volunteering. If you are a community group or charity seeking volunteer support, please visit our Volunteer Services section.

Media Matching

Media Matching is a professional volunteering service for media and communications professionals with two years experience working in media and communications roles. If you are a current student we are afraid that you won't be able to support our charities. As a volunteer you can provide one-to-one advice; support and guidance to charities, this can be on a one-off basis through email or phone; or it can be an on-going relationship over weeks and months and maybe even years! Charities are looking for help with their marketing; PR; social media; website; filmmaking; photography; branding and more. Many charities, especially smaller ones don’t have the resource or skills to tell the stories of their fantastic work and your help will make a real difference!

Our volunteering opportunities are currently only avaiable to volunteers who are based in the UK.

We also run Speedmatching events, providing volunteers with the opportunity to meet a number of local charities in one evening and provide on the spot advice. Find the next informal but structured networking opportunity to support a charity here:

Youth mentoring

Are you 18-35? Do you work in media or advertising and could you spare one hour per month to mentor a young person? Our Queen’s Young Leaders Programme kicks is looking for volunteers just like you. This employability programme will equip young people with the tools they need to gain meaningful employment while increasing diversity in the media and advertising industry.

In the UK today 2.5 million young people are unemployed, working part time or in jobs for which they are over-qualified. If you have colleagues in London, Manchester and Birmingham who would like to be mentors and make a real difference by sharing their expertise for just one hour per month get in touch today.

We'll train you and offer on-going support throughout the programme. All you need is a spare hour per month, empathy, drive and enthusiasm for kick-starting someone's career.

If you would like to become a mentor, please fill out the form below. If you would like to discuss how you or your organisation can get involved please contact us on youngleaders@mediatrust.org or call 020 7871 5600.
