To celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week in May, Media Trust teamed up with one of the world's leading global public relations firms, Weber Shandwick to run a Charity Challenge day with the team at Bipolar UK.
Bipolar UK is a small, national charity that delivers a blend of needs-led support and services to people affected by bipolar.
Bipolar UK are eager to increase awareness of the illness across the UK so they can raise vital funding to develop new services.
Ahead of the event, Media Trust worked with the team at Bipolar UK to help them outline their communications challenge and develop a brief that they would present to a team of seven volunteers from Weber Shandwick.
The Weber Shadwick team joined Bipolar UK at their offices to receive their brief and then took part in a full day of brainstorming, creativity, ideation and exploration. The team reviewed Bipolar UK’s current assets and focused on how to develop them into more creative and visual ways with the aim of helping broad audiences to empathise, understand and identify with the condition.
Bipolar UK and the Weber team generated two strong ideas based on creating a piece of simple and affordable video content that could be used on social media, editorial media and owned channels.
Reflecting on the experience, Bipolar UK’s Fundraising Manager, Davinia Batley said “It was a real treat to welcome Weber Shandwick to Bipolar UK. Their creative insight and ideas have helped us realise exciting new campaigns for the coming months and even years. There is no way we would have been able to organise such a day without the support of the Media Trust. We’re grateful to Media Trust and Weber Shandwick for setting us on the path to change the conversation about bipolar in the UK.”
