City Bridge Trust is the grant-making arm of Bridge House Estates and it aims to address disadvantage by supporting charitable activity. It provides grants totalling around £15 million per year towards charitable activity benefitting Greater London.
The organisation wanted to support eight of its beneficiaries to enhance their communications and increase the appeal of their website through the use of film. It required working with eight diverse and different grant recipients of City Bridge Trust to tell their stories, the majority of whom had no experience of the filmmaking process.
What we did:
Media Trust matched each beneficiary charity with a volunteer professional filmmaker to produce a high-quality promotional film and provided the charities with skills-based filmmaking training to ensure that they gained knowledge of the production process. The films were also packaged and broadcast on Community Channel.
A Media Trust Executive Producer, with specialist knowledge of media and the voluntary sector, gave editorial guidance to the filmmakers and charities throughout the production process to ensure the content satisfied their requirements, as well as the expectations of wider audiences.
City Bridge Trust were delighted with the initiative and commissioned Media Trust to deliver this support to another group of their beneficiaries.
The charities used the promotional films to increase their reach and impact and to drive fundraising and volunteering.
