Vickery joins Scrum Dine With Me

Monday 2nd April 2012

Premiership rugby players will turn waiters for a fundraising night in aid of the sport's dedicated charity.

Diners at Scrum Dine With Me will enjoy a cocktail reception served by current top players plus food prepared by a group including Celebrity Masterchef winner Phil Vickery.

Ex-Gloucester and Wasps player Vickery, who won the cookery competition in 2011, will compete against four other celebrity players, as they prepare a four-course dinner at Ping Pong in aid of Wooden Spoon.

Vickery, from Devon, is also an ambassador of the charity which helps disadvantaged children and young people across the British Isles to live happier, richer lives.

Scrum Dine With Me will be hosted by Nigel Barden, food commentator for Radio 2.

Dinner will include wine courtesy of Barefoot Wine. An auction, raffle and silent auction will also be held.

The event on May 8 is at Ping Pong, Bread Street, London. Guests will be able to peer into the open kitchen to see how the chefs are getting on throughout the night, and also critique the food.

Tickets cost £150 per person or £1,500 for a table of 10. For more information call Pippa Cracknell at 01252 773720 or email pcracknell@woodenspoon.com.
