180 golfers tee off for hospice

Friday 27th April 2012

More than 100 golfers are preparing to tee off to support adults with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

Douglas Macmillan's ninth annual Hospice Golf Day will see 180 golfers taking part in the event to raise funds for the hospice in North Staffordshire.

The event at Trentham Golf Club, in Stoke on Trent, will see the first team of golfers teeing off at around 9.03am with the last team starting their round at 3.28pm.

Every golfer will enjoy a BBQ before they take to the green and once they finish a two-course meal and coffee will be served up.

Organiser Peter Keller said: "We are delighted that so many teams have entered this annual event in the hospice calendar, this year.

"We thank all the companies and individuals who will be supporting the hospice by entering a team , by donating prizes for the raffle and making personal donations."

A few tee times are still available at the beginning of the day on May 17. To sign up visit http://www.dmhospice.org.uk or call 01782 344300.
