Mayor of London Boris Johnson will be joining a number of faith leaders next week to promote social cohesion after last year's riots.
The Mayor will be taking part in the Reclaiming London Together event on March 5 organised by Faiths Forum For London and the Fayre Share Foundation.
The day will see business leaders, politicians and charities discussing how to promote better relationships among London's youth following the capital's riots in August.
Alongside Mr Johnson will be leaders from a number of faith communities, chief executive of Kids Company Camila Batmanghelidjh, and the Bishop of Southwark, the Rt Revd Christopher Chessun.
Mr Johnson said: "Despite a tough economic climate and the unfortunate setback last summer, London is safer than ever and proving remarkably resilient. I attribute that to the creativity, dynamism and decency of the majority of Londoners, and the faith communities in this great city are particularly prominent and productive in that role. I am grateful to them for taking the lead with this initiative, which can only be to the benefit of Londoners."
The event, hosted by the BBC's Religious Affairs Correspondent, Robert Pigott, will also include contributions from young people and faith communities about the summer disturbances.
Canon Guy Wilkinson CBE, co-chair of the Faiths Forum For London, said: "Through this event, and through the initiatives that we are launching, London's faith communities are demonstrating their concern for, and commitment to, the capital's young people.
"In last year's disturbances, religious groups played a positive role on the streets in restraining violence and in providing support to victims."
Reclaiming London Together will take place at London's Stamford Bridge Stadium, from 9am to 5.30pm.
