Suffolk Circle calls for Helpers

Thursday 26th April 2012

Generous volunteers are being called on to put their DIY or gardening skills to good use by helping people with jobs in the home.

Suffolk Circle is looking to recruit volunteers, known as Helpers, who can use their skills to help people over the age of 50 with tasks at home.

Helpers can share their skills in DIY, gardening, technology and computer experience.

They have previously tidied gardens, put up curtain rails, put items in lofts and helped one 84-year-old member learn to use Skype so she can connect with her grandchildren in Australia.

By becoming a Helper, members can also earn tokens to take part in one of the social events organised by Suffolk Circle.

Helpers can give as much or as little time as they want and choose when and how they want to help. For more details call 0800 1123446 or visit http://www.suffolkcircle.org.uk.
