More than £30,000 is needed to refurbish a children's accident and emergency department.
MedEquip4Kids wants to transform the department at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, creating an underwater theme with a nurses desk in the shape of a pirate's galleon.
The money would also cover the cost of new diagnostic equipment to give more accurate and rapid diagnoses when a child is ill.
The Manchester-based charity wants to raise £33,000 for the refurbishment and is calling on residents in Blackpool and Fylde to support the appeal.
Caroline Gomery, senior paediatric sister at Blackpool Victoria Hospital said: "A&E Departments are frightening places for children, and a frightened child is harder to treat. We're keen to improve the experience children and their families have when visiting hospital, and that's why we're so grateful for the support we are getting from MedEquip4Kids."
It is not the first time the charity has supported the Vic. Most recently it provided a multisensory room and new waiting area at the hospital's Children's Outpatients Department.
Sarah Suthers, community fundraiser at MedEquip4Kids, said: "It's great to be fundraising for the Vic again. Last time the hospital needed our help, we were overwhelmed with the support we received from the people of Blackpool. I'm sure the town will get behind us once again to make this project a reality for any child who needs emergency treatment from across the Fylde coast."
