Big Walk to raise funds for hospice

A hospice charity is urging people to join The Big Walk and raise funds to provide specialist end-of-life care in south London.

The Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice event on May 13, will start and finish at Bostall Heath, Abbey Wood.

Participants will have the choice of four routes that are three, five, seven or 10 miles respectively.

They will pass Lesnes Abbey ruins and Shooters Hill, one of the highest points in the capital at 423ft with views over the Thames and central London.

Other events at Bostall Heath will include food and refreshments, as well as a bouncy castle, from 9am.

Stephanie Fuller, from the hospice fundraising team, said: "We hope that hundreds of people will join in the fun at what promises to be a great family day out while raising vital funds for their local hospice."

Pre-registering for the event costs £10 per adult and £5 per child aged between five and 15, while under fives go free. To enter online visit http://www.communityhospice.org.uk/fundraising-events.

Registering on the day costs £15 per adult and £5 for each accompanying child.
