Zip to it for bridge challenge

Thursday 7th June 2012

Thrill-seekers are needed to ride a 320-metre zip wire from a bridge as part of a fundraiser.

Participants will zip along one of the largest temporary zip wires in the country at Newport Transporter Bridge, off Cardiff Road, in Newport, in South Wales.

They will launch from a height of 50 metres and slide along the wire into Coronation Park.

The event on July 15 has been organised by Zipslides UK in aid of Action For Children.

Lucy Johnson, Action For Children fundraiser, said: "We are very excited about this event and would like to encourage as many people as possible to join us in the challenge of helping some the most vulnerable and neglected children both locally and across the UK.

"It's going to be a fun event and it would be great to have groups of friends, families, work colleagues and neighbours get involved together."

Participants need to be over 14 and raise a minimum sponsorship of £100. Entry costs £40 per person. To receive a fundraising pack, call 07525 734108 or email events.wales@actionforchildren.org.uk.
