Runners who have missed online registration for the Bupa Great Manchester Run can still take part thanks to Diabetes UK.
The charity has a number of places available in the May 20 run.
They can join Diabetes UK runner Angela Hendry, 29, who has signed up to run the Bupa Great Manchester Run for her wife, Dawn, who has had Type 1 diabetes for 25 years.
Angela, from Salford Quays, said: "Dawn has suffered from several complications with her diabetes, including autonomic neuropathy and unconscious hypoglycaemia, when the blood sugar levels become very low whilst she's awake and asleep.
"I wanted to run the Bupa Great Manchester Run to support Dawn, and the millions of other sufferers in the UK, to make more people aware of the seriousness of diabetes."
Diabetes UK is the nominated charity for the Bupa Great Run Series, which includes the Bupa Great Manchester Run.
Kate McKie, the charity's North West fundraising manager, said: "As part of the Diabetes UK team, you'll be raising money to provide information and support to local people with diabetes, as well as increasing awareness for those undiagnosed. We have plenty of support for our runners, including motivational tips and advice on how to train, as well as fundraising ideas."
