Knights and animals boost donations

Thursday 26th April 2012

More than £10,000 has been donated to a children's hospice by a shopping centre which staged dozens of events to generate funds.

Medieval knights, a miniature farm and Father Christmas all helped Stafford's Guildhall Shopping Centre raise the cash in aid of The Donna Louise Children's Hospice Trust.

Anne Graham, from the centre, said: "The Donna Louise Children's Hospice is an amazing facility that relies heavily on the generosity of the public. It has been a pleasure to work with them over the last three years and we will continue to assist and support them in the future in any way that we can."

Emma Jones, fundraiser for the Stoke-on-Trent hospice, said: "This is an amazing amount of money to raise. It means a great deal as it allows us to open our doors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to children and their families with life-threatening illnesses."
