Cake at the centre of action week

Monday 21st May 2012

Supporters of an international aid charity are being encouraged to do their bit for the Big ShelterBox Week.

The Cornwall-based charity is asking people to set up a Big Cake Bake, a Big Camp Out and a Big Clear Out event in their communities to support its work with families in need.

Tim Bunting, ShelterBox UK general manager, said: "Big ShelterBox Week is fast approaching and now is the time to start planning how you and your community are going to be involved. Anyone can take part and support ShelterBox in whatever way you like, the main thing is don't do nothing, do something.

"All the money and awareness raised will help us achieve our vital aim of giving displaced families shelter, warmth and dignity following disaster."

At the charity's headquarters in Helston people can take part in Big ShelterBox Week Cake Warehouse Tours. The twice daily behind-the-scenes tours of ShelterBox headquarters run from June 11 to 15. Tea and homemade cakes will then be available for a donation.

For more details visit http://www.bigshelterboxweek.org which runs from June 9 to 16, or to book the Cake Warehouse Tour call 01326 569782.
