RESET

I have been very impressed with the Media Matching service and heard from two advisors - one of which gave me very practical advice about filming. The other is hopefully going to help me edit the footage and has also given me some helpful advice.

National Literacy Trust

We had an extremely useful brainstorming session this morning with two Media Matching advisors. We'll be keeping in touch with them as our planning progresses and reconvene in about 6 months time. Thanks so much to Media Matching for your help in bringing us together.

Just a quick email to say that our match with David is going brilliantly! David is spending 6 days with us over the next few weeks, looking at depth at our internal and external communications. His knowledge and insights are excellent, and we are learning so much.

Youth Action Network

We were looking for judges to help with a photographic competition and someone to provide work experience for the young person who won. This is exactly the support we received when a Media Matching advisor who worked for Channel 4 came forward who is still involved with us now. He both judged the competition and provided 2 weeks work experience on the picture desk. He’s going to do the same again this year.

Huge fan of that speedmatching – it gets you to the point of it straight away and is fun at the same time.

New Horizons Youth Centre

The Media Matching advisor came in within two weeks and turned the video around within two weeks. It would have cost us a lot of money and we wouldn’t have been able to do it or wouldn’t have been able to have the same quality of product or the standard required to go on the website.

We got the benefit of having someone who’s very skilled in her field and our client group didn’t phase her as she had worked with them before.

For organisations like ours surviving on a shoestring – it’s really great to get that kind of help.

The charity fedback that the input had been inspiring and that they had been pleased with the ideas and the support. They felt more upbeat and more optimistic about what could be done. Nice to be involved in a different sector and also build relationships. Also it didn’t take that much time – just a couple of evenings – very flexible.

I realise that how much charities can benefit from this kind of input. I think the charities gain more coverage and knowledge of how to approach producers and programme makers. How to work with media and ‘sell a story’’ My gains have been that I have made more contacts and built relationships – it also helps to keep your skills sharp.
