What does an adviser do?
Advisers volunteer their time and skills to help voluntary organisations with limited resources raise their profile and awareness of their cause.
Not only will you help those in need but you'll also get to network, develop new skills, boost your career and use your talents to make a real difference.
How much experience do I need?
We ask that all advisers have a minimum of two years professional experience.
How can I help?
Answer requests from voluntary organisations asking for help with specific media or communications needs. Even straightforward advice offered over a couple of hours, or
half a day can often be enough to completely transform how an
organisation works and thinks.
How much time will it take?
Volunteering with Media Matching is designed to be flexible. It’s up to you how much time you give and when you give it. Assistance can be given on a one-off basis, or over a longer time scale depending on what you suits you best. You can also offer assistance over the phone or via email if it's difficult to find time to meet face-to-face.
Are there any other ways I can help?
- Take part in our informal Speedmatching events
- Offer to speak at one of our training events
- Volunteer to write online guides on media and communications topics with a Third Sector focus.
