Background
This is a great opportunity for anyone with an interest in television and the media who would like to gain experience in a broadcast television environment. We're looking for enthusiastic people who have excellent administration and computer skills and experience in an office environment.
Responsibilities and specific tasks:
- Open and prepare the daily logs for the Presentation Scheduler
- Update and maintain the scheduling database
- Update and maintain list of available programmes
- Update and maintain advertisements and The Central Office of Information (COI) listings for the channel
- On occasion, create and send necessary reports
- Keep office clean and tidy
- Respond quickly and effectively to all enquiries during office hours
Person Specification:
- Excellent communication skills and telephone manner
- Good literacy skills
- Attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and work to tight deadlines
- Good knowledge of Microsoft office
- Confident using email and the Internet
- Experience of using databases an advantage
- Knowledge of the media and charity industries an advantage
Other duties
The Media Trust is a tightly resourced and staffed organisation. All employees are therefore expected to show flexibility in their work and on occasion be expected to carry out duties not specified in their job description.
Volunteering at Media Trust
At any one time there are between six and ten full-time volunteers working on a range of projects across the organisation. Each volunteer has a specified role and line manager and is also supported by the Office Manager.
Media Trust volunteers have a track record of moving into interesting jobs in the media and charity sector and recent volunteers are now working in paid employment for organisations such as Two Hand Productions, Dow Jones, Comic Relief, Markettiers 4dc, and Media Trust.
