Background
The Administrator is responsible for providing administrative support to the Training and Events team. The team provide communications advice for the voluntary sector through a programme of seminars and workshops, the Community Newswire, and one-to-one matches of media professionals with charities.
Role description
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with processing all bookings for the events team
- Maintain the database of charities and media professionals
- Market and promote specific events and services through appropriate media, specifically mailings
- Help with the production of delegate packs, briefings and mailings for each event
- Attending and assist daytime, and occasionally evening events as necessary
- General clerical duties
Person specification
- Excellent planning, organisational, administration and report writing skills
- Excellent communication skills including a high level of computer literacy
- Creative flair for event organisation and marketing
- Commitment to Media Trust’s purposes and policies
- Knowledge of current media and communications issues, techniques and best practice an advantage
- Knowledge of communications issues in charity sector
Volunteering at Media Trust
At any one time there are between six and ten full-time volunteers working on a range of projects across the organisation. Each volunteer has a specified role and line manager and is also supported by the Office Manager. Media Trust volunteers have a track record of moving into interesting jobs in the media and charity sector and recent volunteers are now working in paid employment for organisations such as Two Hand Productions, Dow Jones, Comic Relief, Markettiers 4dc, and Media Trust.
