The MS Society exists to enable everyone affected by MS to live life to their full potential and secure the care and support they need, until we ultimately find a cure. We rely on fundraising and the efforts of our volunteers and staff, to achieve our aims to: Fund and promote research into finding the cause of and cure for MS, and improving care and services for people affected by MS. Ensure that the MS Society produces up-to-date, accurate and accessible information tailored to meet the needs of people affected by MS and MS professionals. Provide support to all people affected by MS. Raise standards of care for all people living with MS. To increase awareness of the devastating impact of MS on people’s lives, influence decision-makers, and inform about the help, support and services the MS Society can provide.

Requirements:

Do you have good communication skills and are you able to communicate with a range of people? Are you looking to develop or build upon publicity skills? As publicity officer you will develop links with the local media in the local area and represent the MS Society, identifying opportunities to gain media coverage in liaison with the branch chair. You will arrange publicity of the branches services, meetings and events and promote the work and views of the branch the MS Society locally. Our National Centre Communications team are available to ensure that you are be aware of the MS Society's official views on specific issues and you can contact them when you are not sure how to answer or comment on an issue of if you need advice.
