Media interview training
One of our most popular workshops and most requested in-house training topics; media interview training ensures you are confident and fully prepared to represent your organisation as a media spokesperson.
You and your team work hard to attract media attention to raise awareness of your charity’s work among wider audiences, and you need to be ready to respond when a journalist calls asking for an expert opinion, to find out more about your latest campaign or for a reaction to a current news story.
Why should I book?
Running monthly as a small group workshop in partnership with global PR firm Porter Novelli, or as bespoke training tailormade for a small group of your senior staff, our practical full-day training will make sure you can confidently get your organisation's message across in your media interviews.
In realistic studios and scenarios worked up to simulate situations you are likely to encounter in phone, radio and TV interviews, our expert trainers will help you stay calm and focussed on your key messages to tell your story powerfully, and cope with unexpected questions.
We limit the capacity of this workshop to 6 to ensure each attendee gains practical experience of all the interview scenarios and studios, as well as personal attention, feedback and coaching from the experts on hand.
Who’s it for?
Ideal for managers, directors, chief executives and trustees dealing with media interviews on the phone, radio or TV.

From October 2011 to April 2012, spokespeople attending our open workshop sessions will be entered into ‘Charity Voice 2012’, a new award recognising the most talented spokespeople in the not-for-profit sector. The winner will be announced in May 2012 and will receive a profile interview on the Guardian Voluntary Sector Network plus a free training session for six people at their charity as a prize.
