In radio and TV studios, and a phone interview with a print journalist, our expert trainers will help you keep calm, stay on message and make the right impression when it counts.

Rehearse your TV and radio manner, make sure you'll be interesting and engaging over the phone and get familiar with interviewer styles through professional PR feedback and coaching. You’re working hard to attract media attention, and you should be ready to respond when a journalist calls you. Ideal for you if:You want to get your story across in interviews and be prepared for awkward questions.Back at work, you’ll:

Neil Bayley, Director, Porter Novelli


Neil leads the corporate practice and media training team at Porter Novelli. He is a senior trainer with a decade of experience, leading media training programmes for a diverse range or organisations including the Post Office, WRAP, Media Trust, NHS, Petplan, the Royal Mint and Kraft. He has in-depth knowledge of how journalists work, practical experience of managing crisis situations for a wide range of clients and insights into the current media agenda.


Emma Reynolds, Account Director, Porter Novelli


A corporate and financial services specialist with extensive experience of delivering award winning  global communications programmes for clients including BT, Interbrand, Southern Cross Healthcare, the Royal Mint, HSBC, Deloitte, Intel capital and Doosan Power Systems. Emma has developed and implemented a wide range of corporate profiling programmes for her clients, positioning senior spokespeople as experts and thought leaders in their field and enabling them to build relationships with key stakeholders and influencers.  Emma has managed the reactive press office for a broad range of clients, helping them respond to issues and crises. 


Geoff Duggan, Senior Account Manager, Porter Novelli


Geoff is an experienced communications professional with a track record of advising organisations from a wide range of sectors on all aspects of media handling, issues management and stakeholder relations. He has a solid grounding in a variety of domestic and international public policy issues and an extensive working knowledge of UK media. 

Geoff is able to offer expert advice to clients on when and how to respond to breaking news as well as reach influential commentators, feature writers and relevant broadcast producers and reporters. A key part of his work is securing and managing media interviews for clients, as well as coaching them how to get the most from these opportunities. Before making the move into PR, Geoff worked for and advised a number of UK Members of Parliament, giving him inside-knowledge of how certain public policy issues are handled at the executive level.


Emily Mansell, Account Manager, Porter Novelli


Emily joined Porter Novelli as an Account Manager in January 2012. She has over seven years experience in consultancy and in-house, most recently working for over four years as a Communications Manager at Network Rail working on many of the London stations upgrades such as King’s Cross and London Bridge. Most recently Emily worked as the external PR manager on a project to relocate 3,000 people from 15 offices to a new central office in Milton Keynes. Emily has managed and implemented media relations campaigns and her experience also includes corporate communications, issues and crisis handling, public affairs, event management and media training. 



Julia Langsman, Senior Account Executive, Porter Novelli


Julia is a B2B and corporate PR specialist who joined Porter Novelli in March 2011. She has worked on media relations and thought leadership campaigns for clients including BT, The Royal Mint and Warburton’s. She monitors the news agenda for clients and advises on opportunities and threats. She has handled reactive press office enquiries for a number of clients, helping them to respond to crises as they happen. Before starting her career in PR, Julia worked as a journalist for South West News Service, a national press agency based in Bristol. She covered a range of stories and interviews for publications including the Daily Telegraph, Times, Daily Mail and international media. Julia has a degree in English Language and Literature from Leeds University and a postgraduate diploma in Newspaper Journalism.
