Trainer- Oliver Hickson
Oliver left COI in November 2010 to set up his own communications agency, Hickson Communications, specialising in public sector, charity and communications best practice. He now has a client list of 12, ranging from agencies, trade bodies to clients. He is at the industry forefront of evaluation best practice and proving the value of communications.
His most recent charity work is with Euradia (through Media Trust), the European advocacy body for diabetes research. Oliver has put together a strategic communications programme and plan for them.
At COI Oliver was most recently the PR & and Client Director. He joined COI in 1995 as a Sponsorship and Promotions Manager. As PR & Client Director at COI he looked after all PR agency (£25 million a year), best practice PR evaluation, Education and Armed Forces PR work. Previously COI’s PR & Sponsorship Director, growing a team from 8 to 30. Oliver produced the government sponsorship guidelines, set up COI’s partnership marketing and cultural diversity offer. He also looked after corporate communications for COI.
Prior to COI worked at Alan Pascoe Associates in Sports Marketing and at Guinness PLC as a Sales/Marketing graduate trainee.
