Crisis Comms for Charities

01 Mar

Wednesday 1 March 2023 10:00 - 12:00

Join this unique webinar to learn how to handle negative media attention, anticipate risk and turn the focus back onto your good work.

You’ve probably heard ‘all publicity is good publicity’, but we know that’s not always the case. Bad publicity for charities can damage their reputation and great work, affect their funding, or alienate their audiences. However, is it possible to turn the attention around to focus onto your messages? Or could you forecast the negative attention and act early to prevent it? Of course, you can!

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to handle bad news and negative attention. We’ll give you the knowledge on how to manage yourself, your organisation, and the media under pressure, leaving you feeling prepared to protect your reputation in a PR crisis.

This event will take place online. The webinar link will be released to delegates ahead of the event.

Through this training, you’ll learn to:

  • Spot a crisis issue early on and anticipate risk
  • Safeguard your organisation against a crisis
  • Deal with a PR crisis using traditional media and social media
  • Prepare a comprehensive crisis plan

Who should attend?

This workshop is designed for charity comms workers and spokespeople who are likely to be directly responsible for safeguarding their organisation, anticipating risk, and dealing quickly and calmly with negative attention.
