Speedmatching

As part of our Media Matching service, Speedmatching events provide a fun way for charities, voluntary organisations and advisers to find their 'perfect match'.

Speedmatching

'Thanks again for a good evening – working is not meant to be so much fun!'
Annie Dunnridg, Cardiff & Vale Coalition of Disabled People

'It's brave to bring together people with disparate skills and needs, but it works, so full marks to the Media Trust.'
David Brewer, Media Ideas

How does Speedmatching work?
Speedmatching events are free networking opportunities where representatives from voluntary organisations get to meet face-to-face with media professionals (advisers) looking to volunteer their time.

Speedmatching works in a similar way to speed dating. Ten voluntary organisations each get five minute slots to talk with ten different media advisers.

Voluntary organisations discuss what kind of support they're looking for, while advisers try to give on the spot help and advice, as well as looking for longer term volunteering opportunities. If an adviser and voluntary organisation would like to go on to work together, they indicate their interest on a match card and the Media Matching team put them in touch after the event.

To make the evening more relaxed and enjoyable, we provide wine, nibbles and a friendly environment. Events are generally held in the evenings at a range of exciting venues such as the BBC, Channel 4 and the Guardian.

To find out more or sign up for Speedmatching, or if your organisation is interested in hosting an event in London or regionally, please call 020 7217 3771 or email us at mediamatching@mediatrust.org.

Future Speedmatching Events

As part of the Marketing and Communications workstream, funded through Capacitybuilders' National Support Services funding programme, we have organised a series of speedmatching events exclusively designed for second-tier support providers.

We'll be holding the events up and down the country over the next year so come along and find your perfect match at a venue near you.
