West Midlands

Community Voices has helped disadvantaged and isolated communities find a voice through digital media.

Mentoring digital media

In the West Midlands, Community Voices helped several communities, providing tools and resources, awards and digital mentoring to empower them with confidence and skills to find their voice and make it heard.

Have a look at the projects:

  • Refuge for victims of domestic abuse in Wolverhampton empowered this group through film and radio to speak out about abuse.

  • Group of adopted young people in Birmingham learnt and used video to speak out about ‘contact’ with their birth families.

  • SIFA Fireside in Birmingham ran an art project in which the homeless community used film and photography to show the city through their eyes. An Inspiring Voices award winner.
