Community Voices has helped disadvantaged and isolated communities find a voice through digital media.

In the North West, Community Voices helped many diverse communities, providing tools and resources, awards and digital mentoring to empower them with confidence and skills to find their voice and make it heard. 

Have a look at the projects:

  • Hattersley Residents in Hyde, Cheshire produces internet TV news programmes to bring their community together.
     
  • Preston FM community group produced live radio shows with residents of Preston’s most deprived areas.
     
  • Friends of Stoneleigh Park north east of Oldham used digital media training to make a film about the positive aspects of their area.
     
  • Vintage Radio based in the Wirral gives an opportunity to older people to contribute to their own internet radio station.
     
  • Blue Horizons project organised by Richmond Fellowship in Liverpool created animation to illustrate the impact of social exclusion.  An Inspiring Voices award winner.
     
  • St. Luke’s  Art Project in Longsight, Manchester helps people with mental health needs develop art skills in a safe environment. An Inspiring Voices award winner.
     
  • MaD Theatre Co in north Manchester used film and theatre to examine the history and consequences of gang crime for their community. An Inspiring Voices award winner.
