About the community:
Connection at St Martin's is a Westminster-based charity that works to help homeless people, many of whom are facing mental health problems, rebuild their lives away from the streets. Their priority is finding innovative ways to help them address their homelessness and restore confidence so that they have a future away from the streets.
What they plan to do with Media Trust's support:
The charity already runs a weekly digital media group at which homeless people can express themselves and learn digital skills. Members expressed a desire to set up their own blogs, so with the help of a Media Trust mentor they will receive support in how to write a blog and how to get it read and noticed. They will also build on an existing photography project and give homeless people the opportunity to learn how to edit and develop short films, manipulate images in Photoshop and build websites though bite sized formal accredited training in digital technology so that they obtain qualifications.

What they hope to achieve:
They want these projects to improve homeless peoples' self-esteem, by effectively engaging and helping them to learn new skills. They also hope that these creative projects made by their clients will educate wider society and challenge some of their misconceptions.
