Shadowing experienced journalists and producers and discover why certain stories are picked up and how editorial ideas are developed. Most importantly, getting the chance to learn how to improve your charity's relationship with the media to gain more publicity for its activities. Media Trust is offering ten weeklong placements during January and February 2010 to PR or press officers from voluntary organisations. Placements will be at a range of top media companies including regional, local and national newspapers, BBC radio and television news, Press Association and Sky News Fiona McKinstrie, from UK Youth Parliament spent a week at Channel 4 News. Fiona said: 'Being on ‘work experience’ at the age of 29 was always going to be a surreal experience, but if I was hoping for a career enhancing, motivational, and all round incredible opportunity I most certainly got one.
