Want to be mentored by top broadcast journalists and learn how a newsroom works? This is your chance to break into news!
If you’re aged 18-25 with limited media or broadcasting experience, this is your chance to be mentored by top journalists and produce your own local news report on issues that matter to you.
Media Trust and ITV News have launched Breaking Into News to offer budding broadcast journalists the opportunity to learn writing, reporting and production skills. The scheme is specifically designed to support young people from across the country, that wouldn’t normally have the opportunity, to gain industry insight. No experience is necessary, just passion and enthusiasm.
Applications are now closed.
Ten finalists, one from each ITV News region, are currently being selected and will be given the opportunity to work with top industry mentors to develop their own ideas and turn them into a news report for their local ITV newsroom. Each report will also be considered for inclusion on an ITV News platform.
One lucky finalist will win an iPad and will spend the day with the ITV News team producing the ITV News at Ten.
