Job description

Media Trust is looking for a talented and enthusiastic professional to take on this challenging and rewarding role focused on Media Industry fundraising events & sponsorship delivery. The role is responsible for project planning, delivery and management of our media industry fundraising & engagement events programme, with a clear focus on sponsorship and strategy.

Combined, the role is a mix of client interaction, project and event delivery, reporting, fundraising strategy development, cross selling, securing sponsorship and new business. You will work closely with the wider Media Trust team, who are delivering charity communications services and projects that support charities and are delivered with and by our media industry corporate members and the wider media industry. The role will be high pressure, with challenging targets, and a lot of hands-on delivery, as well as enabling inspirational and high impact activity and projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Create and deliver a portfolio of fundraising events targeted at the media industry
  • Secure sponsorship income and drive ticket sales with each target audience
  • Manage the delivery of sponsorship agreements
  • Develop detailed action plans with timelines and templates to achieve growth, accurately track and evaluate the results of each event
  • Lead, communicate, and collaborate across all internal and external partners to ensure the seamless delivery of each event.
  • Achieve budget goals, closely monitor revenue and expenditure, alerting the Media Engagement and Events Director to any risks and deviations from the plan, making recommendations for corrective action
  • Manage supplier and corporate member relationships
  • Raise the profile of Media Trust with our corporate member employees and the wider Media Industry through events
  • Line management of volunteers

Person specification

  • Proven experience of managing fundraising events leading to successful outcomes, with limited budget and resource
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering successful fundraising events raising circa £50K+
  • Minimum of five years’ business development and/or fundraising events experience, ideally in B2B, charity or related sectors
  • Good understanding and experience of marketing to profile and engage the corporate sector
  • Extensive high level client management experience
  • Confident tactical and strategic decision-maker with the ability to devise and implement event and membership strategies
  • Strong project and budget management experience
  • Excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, analytical, results oriented
  • Ability to quickly build and maintain strong working relationships
  • Possess creative and innovative ideas for corporate and special events
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, think laterally and meet deadlines
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
